About
NOTE: This page is a daughter page of: Wiki
MediaWiki's (such as this one) have a special code-like syntax to represent text. For example:
==Heading 2== - equal signs are used for different headings text '''bold''' or ''italic'' - 3 single quote marks for bold or 2 for italic [http://www.url.com/ link] - for link
The syntax isn't too hard to learn, but if you have a heap of text already formatted as rich text (eg: a word document) it's a real pain to convert. On this page I'll keep track of any reliable methods I find which can take rich text or even HTML and convert it into MediaWiki syntax.
Methods to Convert Rich Text to MediaWiki Syntax
- Sun Wiki Publisher - open office export which allows you to export an open office text document as MediaWiki text.
