White Tiger

     ... beautiful, sexy, rare

In the deep Bengal forests,
Wanders a beautiful creature.
With the proud black stripes of a warrior,
And the curves of a seductress.

Even among the tigers,
She is revered as a rare gem of beauty.
Her shoulder-blades move as if in dance,
As she strides.

Slowly.
Through her kingdom.

She is the white tiger,
She is younger and yet wiser.
She has the spirit of a fighter,
The smallest spark can ignite her.

Her white fur is like snowfall.

Her beauty can take your breath away for a paused moment in time.
Her vicious mouth around your neck, can take your breath away forever.

Even among the tigers,
She is both feared and revered.

She can tear you to pieces, or leave you wanting more.

I have a story of man in the forest.
The man sees the white tiger from across a wide forest stream.
In this rare moment he freezes.

Is he the luckiest man in the village or the unluckiest?
They stare at each other.

The most terrifyingly beautiful moment in the history of this man's life.
He doesn't know if the encounter will be a moment of appreciated beauty, where the animal retracts back into the jungle,
Or exposes her deadly teeth, and chases him down. He would surely die.
Is it the best moment in a man's life, or his worst.

The only thing certain is he cannot look away.
He whispers "you are beautiful" under his breath.

In the deep Bengal forest,
On that day.
The tiger claimed a piece of his beating heart as her own.

About this Poem...

Animal: White tiger
Description/motivation: I wrote this for a Adjoa, the traveller from Ghana. She has a thing for white tigers.

This is one in a serious of poems I've written about various animals. The motivation, is that I love the idea of spirit animals, and I decided, one day, to ask many of my friend what animal they think best represents their personality. In some cases the poems are written with the person in mind... and sometimes it's purely about the animal. Read more about my process here. If you love this poem or want another written please e-mail me at andrew.noskeATSIGNgmail.com. :-)
This is an original poem by me!
