About

This page is a child of: Fire Dancing

This is a really fun fire festival event! Sadly it's only every few months, and I believe the only way to find out when it is on is to periodically check the WestEndFireFest Facebook Page for the next announcement, but it is well worth the trip for yourself or the whole family (if you have one).

  • What:
    Flow performance ...(and some fire!).
  • When:
Every ~4 months I believe ... check the FB website for the next one.
  • Where:
Orleigh Park, Brisbane, QLD, Australia, Queensland ... (map)
  • Cost:
Free! ... one of many reasons why people love it.
  • What to wear:
Dress for warmth in winter and natural fibres if fire spinning (for safety). ... but probably bring sunscreen.
  • Website:
facebook ... (no other website I believe).

What's Special About This Event and Venue

What I love about this is that so many families come and set up their blankets... probably helped by the fact there's a big bank of ~6 food trucks that show up too. I would suggest you arrive really early with your family to get a good parking spot (else you'll have a long walk), and put a blanket near the circle. If you have kids or are a big kid, before sunset is when people just got around and someone might teach you and your kids some fun little moves, but eventually everyone is asked to sit around the perimeter and people start dancing. Several DJs will play, and sometimes it feels like it's a bit heavy trance considering there are so many families, but hey - the organisers do a fantastic, fantastic job to keep this incredible event going! It brings together a lot of fire people, and there's often a fun afterparty - although not for kids.

Sincerely,
