Latin Dance Venues in Brisbane
Name | Location | Evaluation / Times |

BRISBANE DOWNTOWNMy potential home from 2023-onwards
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (web) |
641 Ann St, Fortitude Valley

Evaluation: This event is awesome! It starts with a couple or a single guy leading the whole floor in a salsa dance (all facing the same way). Super crowded but fun. Eventually, the band comes on, and it's still crowded - almost an issue, but if you wanted a better dance you could go upstairs for more room (and still hear the music). This venue is mostly a fancy restaurant or club at night (quiet or crowded depending on the night), but on Thursday nights transforms into salsa with a live band (video).
Open: Thursday nights with dance class from 8:30 pm – 9:10 pm... $10 entry after 8:30 pm.

Evaluation: Have not been yet, but the description "Do you love to have a groove, get those hips swinging, and dance into the night!?".
Open: Sunday nights with (free?) salsa class from 8:00 pm in the downstairs area.

Evaluation: Have not been yet, but the website has the description "DJs playing the best salsa and bachata... bookings advised". I think they like you to eat dinner there, then join the dancing.
Open: Wednesday nights with salsa/batchata dancing from 8:00 pm to midnight.

Evaluation: Lots of people call this their absolute favourite event! Sadly it's only once a month and I don't think it's predictable timing, so you will have to check the Felon's FB or https://www.facebook.com/gus.cereijo for an El Timbon entry like this.
Open: Once-a-month Sunday afternoon till late with band El Timbon.

BRISBANE - WESTThe Gap etc
⭐⭐⭐⭐⬜ (web) |
Rivercity Family Church, 59 Settlement Rd

Evaluation: Described as "fun and friendly social Latin dancing", this is more a dance lesson than salsa, but it's a nice venue and instructors Diego Fajardo and Katya Guerra will get your legs moving. Depending on when you show up might be 10-40 people (hard to say), and a slightly older crowd but really fun.
Open: Tuesday nights with beginner salsa from 7pm, then 8pm a very short salsa leading into more advanced lessons. Is $20 for one lesson, $40 for two, or there are passes available.
