Peacock

     ... magnificent, colorful, showman

The peacock is an extraordinary creature,
There is magnificent detail, in her every feature.
Other animals, sit beneath her.

She takes the stage.
Opens the page.
Her words will transcend life time and age.

She's more fabulous than the birds in the tree.
The peacock can say, come look at me.
She's about to drop beats,
In slam poetry.

This is a special day,
In every way.

Didn't you hear, and didn't you know.
The peacock can put on, one heck of a show.

Riding on turtles,
Swaying her feathers.
More than just pretty,
This bird is witty and clever.

Drop the microphone,
Come out to play.
This peacock has a voice.
What will she next say?

About this Poem...

Animal: Peacock
Description/motivation: This poem is Chelsea to celebrate her 40th birthday! I've actually already written her a peacock poem AND a turtle poem, so this is the third. Wow! Happy birthday magnificent Chelsea. :)

This is one in a serious of poems I've written about various animals. The motivation, is that I love the idea of spirit animals, and I decided, one day, to ask many of my friend what animal they think best represents their personality. In some cases the poems are written with the person in mind... and sometimes it's purely about the animal. Read more about my process here. If you love this poem or want another written please e-mail me at andrew.noskeATSIGNgmail.com. :-)
This is an original poem by me!
